Travel, leisure and hobbies
After working hard for most of your life, retirement should be an opportunity to enjoy an adequate standard of living. It’s important to consider your dream lifestyle well in advance of retiring. Will you:
- take a world tour?;
- join a tennis club?;
- indulge the grandchildren?; or
- buy a boat?
While retirement is a greatly anticipated life event for most of us, for others, it’s a very stressful life transition, particularly if their finances aren’t adequately organised or their income doesn’t stretch beyond the bare essentials.
In addition, it’s important that retirees have some planned activities, hobbies or interests to pursue, as they’ll find themselves with many spare hours in the day. With some forward thinking and pre-planning, the transition from working, to retirement, can be a smooth one.
Speak to your financial planner to find out how you can plan for a more comfortable and enjoyable retirement.
